“Think well before you speak because your words may plant the seed of either success or failure in the mind of some other person.”
~Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill Around the World

A spoken word can often change the life of the person receiving the message.

Napoleon Hill, the author of Think and Grow Rich, wrote and spoke about the positive messages and words of encouragement that had a lasting effect on his life. First, at an early age, he was encouraged by his stepmother to read and write, due to his huge imagination.

As a young person, Hill said that an older gentleman put his hand on his shoulder and told him that he was a bright boy, and if he got an education, he would be well known throughout his life. Napoleon Hill never forgot those words.

Recently, at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, the Napoleon Hill Foundation, Board of Trustees, and friends were invited to the campus to celebrate Napoleon Hill’s birthday, who was born in Wise County on October 26, 1883.

This year’s event was simply outstanding. Terry McAuliffe, Governor of Virginia, issued a proclamation declaring the date of Napoleon Hill’s birth, Napoleon Hill Day in the state of Virginia.

This year’s speaker was Jim Stovall who gave an inspiring message to local high students, and the Future Business Leaders of American from Southwest Virginia.

Comments passed to us from teachers and students said that Jim was outstanding and his message was life changing. One young adult said that if that blind man can do all that, I can too.

I don’t think a single person who heard Jim Stovall speak was not inspired.

Many people asked me where they could get a DVD of Jim so they could show it at their church, or to their family and friends.

Our words may be simple, but if that gives encouragement and inspires others who desperately need inspiration in their lives, that what it is all about.

I wish you the best at whatever you do!

Vintage Essays By Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center at Purdue University Calumnet

“The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another’s, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises.
~ Leo Buscaglia

Dear Readers:

Words are a writer’s legacy. Each and every time a person reads a writer anew, the writer lives again. Whether it is Emerson, Shakespeare, Napoleon Hill, or anyone else, as each of their words spring from the page into the mind of a reader, the writer takes on an immortality that outlasts their physical self.

It might be timely to make a list of all the comments people have spoken to you either in joy or anger. Why not allow yourself to experience the joyful feelings once again from the positive comments, and next turn the negative comments into something positive? For example, if someone has stated “you can’t do anything right,” turn it to a positive comment by restating it as “I do everything correctly in a right and timely fashion.” If you heard growing up that “I am sorry you were ever born,” restate it as “By being born I am bringing all my talents and goodness to fulfillment for the betterment of myself and the world.” You get the idea. A complimentary or crass comment only heals or harms us if we allow it to do what we permit. No one can make us believe we are less than we are or can ever become but ourselves.

Heal yourself through positive affirmations today. Be a good-finder especially within yourself. Allow no one to determine who or what you will become except you. You hold the key to yourself and no one else. Unlock the treasure inside you by affirming that you are extra special, put here for a definite purpose, and only you can fulfill your destiny to the highest point that the Creator has placed within you. Go for it, and be on the lookout for all the goodness you can hold and aspire to because you are unique, you are you, and there is no one better at being yourself than you are! And words are the very bricks and mortar that build your self-esteem, self-confidence, self-respect, and self-love to the fullest. Only use GOOD ONES! You can do it because you think you can.

Be Your Very Best Always,
Judy Williamson

The Law of Success

Every proverb, every book, every by-word that belongs to thee for aid or comfort shall surely come home through open or winding passages. Every friend whom not thy fantastic will but the great and tender heart is thee craveth, shall lock thee in his embrace.
~ Emerson

Your Own Will Come To You
by Napoleon Hill

The law of attraction will cause all that harmonizes with your personality to gravitate to you, as steel filings are attracted to a magnet. There is not escape from this law, therefore build the “Golden Rule” into your personality if you would insure against regrets.

The Moving Finger writes; and,
having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a
Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word
of it. — Omar Khayyám

Napoleon Hill’s Greatest Speeches

from the Archives of Napoleon Hill

We are pleased to present this never before published collection from the one and only, Napoleon Hill.

Along with other never before published material, this volume includes the speech that inspired the worldwide bestseller Think and Grow Rich.

With a foreword by Napoleon’s grandson, Dr. J.B. Hill, and introductory comments by Don Green, Director of The Napoleon Hill Foundation, personal letters from family members and Senator Jennings Randolph, this fascinating exploration of the speeches given by the pioneer of the personal development movement is packed with a wealth of information.

It is a revealing look at one man’s quest for understanding why some men succeed, why others do not, and what makes success something that can be replicated.

This collection will provide you with some of Napoleon’s finest speeches including:

-What I Have Learned From Analyzing 10,000 People
-The Man Who Has Had no Chance
-The Commencement Address at Salem College in Salem, West Virginia, 1922—likely his best-remembered and most-influential speech.

Napoleon Hill dedicated much of his life to solving what he called “the most stupendous problem confronting the human race today.” That is, “How can I get what I want?”

As W. Clement Stone and thousands of others can attest, Hill succeeded in this venture, and we now have a success philosophy that Andrew Carnegie once saw as a possibility.

The pages within this book will tell you of the origins of a personal development legacy.

Think and Grow Rich

by Napoleon Hill

As Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, I receive many requests from people wanting the original 1937 copy of Think and Grow Rich. To satisfy those of you who desire to have a 1937 unedited copy, we have reproduced Napoleon Hill’s personal copy of the first edition, printed in March of 1937. The book has the notation, “not to be loaned,” and signed: Annie Lou Hill (the wife of Dr. Hill). This personal copy of Dr. Hill’s was given to me by Dr. Charles W. Johnson, Chairman of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and a nephew of Napoleon Hill. It was Napoleon Hill who sent Dr. Johnson to medical school, and today he is a practicing cardiologist. Charlie refers to Napoleon Hill as “Uncle Nap” and will often makes the statement, “Uncle Nap would be proud of the Foundation today.” The original 1937 manuscript was written and edited with the assistance of Napoleon’s wife. In later years, the existing document was again edited by Dr. Hill. For example, the Foundation owns a 1958 edition that Hill edited personally. This did not lessen the book’s value in Hill’s judgment. Hill made the editing remarks in his own handwriting and the resulting 1960 edited edition has sold over 100 million copies making it the most read self-help book of all time
