MORE DYNAMITE!!

The Foundation is proud to announce that the second book in the series based on the long lost Mental Dynamite booklets written by Napoleon Hill will be published by Random House/Penguin on September 19. Titled “How to Own Your Own Mind,” the book focuses on three of the seventeen principles: Creative Vision, Organized Thought and Controlled Attention. These principles show how you can focus and use your mind to carry out your definite major purpose. The book is available for pre-order on Amazon now.

Creative Vision includes the power of imagination and is the means by which one recognizes opportunities. Organized Thought, when combined with will power and self- discipline, is the means by which Creative Vision is fully developed. And Controlled Attention, coupled with intense concentration, is how thought is turned into action.

Napoleon Hill often said that action is critical to success, but one must think before one can grow rich, and this book, with many examples and success stories, will show you how to think and gain control of your own mind. We are sure you will enjoy and benefit from these chapters, timeless and still valid after many decades in the Foundation’s archives.

Now available on Amazon!

Vintage Essays By Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center at Purdue University Calumnet

Economic Security

When Dr. Napoleon Hill was living in California, he published a book called the Master Key to Riches. In this book, Napoleon wrote about the 12 Riches of Life which are composed of the following:

1.) Positive Mental Attitude
2.) Sound Health
3.) Harmony in Human Relationships
4.) Freedom from Fear
5.) The Hope of Achievement
6.) The Capacity for Faith
7.) Willingness to Share One’s Blessings
8.) A Labor of Love
9.) An Open Mind on All Subjects
10.) Self Discipline
11.) The Capacity to Understand People
12.) Economic Security

Napoleon Hill stated that even though economic security was listed last, it was certainly not the least important of the twelve riches. Most of the time, economic security is not missing in someone’s life because of their lack of money. Most of the time, economic security is lost because of how the person chooses to use the money they have.

Most people do not practice the well-known advice of saving part of their income. The amount saved is not always important. Instead, it is important to establish the habit of saving, which will lead to economic security. Chances are, if you cannot save part of your income when you have a little, you will not save when you earn more.

I wish you the best in all that you do.

The Law of Success

The Twelve Riches of Life
by Napoleon Hill

You have, I believe, that human urge for the better things in life which is the common desire of all people. You desire economic security which money alone can provide. You may desire an outlet for your talents in order that you may have the joy of creating your own riches.

Some seek the easy way to riches, hoping to find it without giving anything in return. That too is a common desire. But it is a desire I shall hope to modify for your benefit, as from experience I have learned that there is no such thing as something for nothing.

Napoleon Hill holding the
The Master-Key to Riches

There is but one sure way to riches, and that may be attained only by those who have the Master-Key to Riches. This Master-Key is a marvelous device which those who possess it may use to unlock doors to the solutions of their problems.

It opens the door to sound health.

It opens the door to love and romance.

It opens the door to friendship, by revealing the traits of personality and character which make enduring friends.

It reveals the method by which every adversity, every failure, every disappointment, every error of judgment, and every past defeat may be transmuted into riches of priceless value.

It kindles anew the dead hopes of all who possess it, and it reveals the formula by which one may “tune in” and draw upon the great reservoir of Infinite Intelligence.

It lifts humble men to positions of power, fame and fortune.

It turns back the hands of the clock and renews the spirit of youth for those who have grown old too soon.

It provides the method by which you may take full and complete possession of your own mind, thus giving you unchallengeable control over the emotions of the heart and the power of thinking.

It bridges the deficiencies of those who have inadequate formal schooling, and puts them substantially on the same plane of opportunity that is enjoyed by those who have a better education.

And lastly, it opens the doors, one by one, to the Twelve Great Riches of Life which I shall presently describe.

No man may hear that for which he has not the preparation for hearing. The preparation consists of many things, among them sincerity of purpose, humility of heart, a full recognition of the truth that no man knows everything. I shall speak to you of facts and describe to you many principles, some of which you may never have heard, for they are known only to those who have prepared themselves to accept the Master-Key.

Wealth 101
by Jim Stovall

Yesterday I heard a statistic that is tremendously significant. The first impression of this statistic was so insignificant that I almost didn’t get it. Then the true import of what I was hearing dawned on me. Last month, the national average savings rate was a negative 1%. At first glance, 1% doesn’t seem like a big number, and the fact that it only deals with the savings rate doesn’t seem to indicate an immediate crisis; however, there are some facts in play here that we need to understand.

Interest rates are still at a historic low that most of us have not experienced in our lifetimes. Our economy is relatively healthy and growing at a good pace. Employment is approaching a level we would consider full employment. And, overall, the economic outlook is pretty good. The last time we had a negative 1% savings rate nationally, was in 1933. This, our fans of history will remember, was the low point of the Great Depression; therefore, this begs the question: “What’s going to happen if things get really bad?”

This is probably a good point for you and me to review the myths and realities of wealth building. The greatest myth about wealthy people is that they either inherited the money or won the lottery. In reality, over 90% of millionaires are first generation millionaires who earned, saved, and invested their own money. People who win the lottery are more likely to file bankruptcy in the following 10 years than the average working class person in our society. Therefore, with respect to wealth building, we must rely on the old adage: “If it is to be, it is up to me.” Now that we’ve dispelled the myths and established personal responsibility, let’s go over a few rules for building our wealth.

1. Spend less than you earn.
2. Avoid borrowing money.
3. Live on a budget.
4. Save and invest regularly.

This would seem to be an elementary school explanation of wealth building. In reality, many millionaires in our society only have an elementary school education. If you’re going to win any game, you first need to understand the rules. Then follow the lead of those who have already won. Whether I am writing books, speaking from the platform, or putting together these weekly columns, probably my best advice ever is, “Don’t take advice from anybody that doesn’t have what you want.” This certainly applies as you strive to reach your financial goals.

As you go through your day today, remember the simple rules of wealth building and apply them to your life. They are, indeed, simple but not easy. If it were easy, everyone would be rich. Today’s the day!

NOTE: The current statistics (as of today September 29, 2017), on average the American household is saving less than 5% of their income according to one source (nerdwallet 2017). Several sources site that this is still not enough to plan for a successful retirement. The good news is that on average Americans are getting better at saving.

THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL
by Dr. Ron Jenkins

I just had the opportunity of completing the Napoleon Hill Foundation Leader Certification Program. It was a challenging and growing experience for me. The program forced me to look at the person who could help me the most – MYSELF! I have grown in my thinking and I have a better attitude toward life. Going through the program required me to look deep within myself. What I saw…I did not like, especially in the area of attitude. I found myself either accepting the teachings of Napoleon Hill or rejecting them and going on with life as I had been used to living and thinking. Fortunately I took the path of changing my direction for the better. Oh, the change it has created in my life. It took me about two and a half years to complete the program but the time was well worth the effort. I would encourage anyone who starts the program to hang in there and take it to the end. I have no doubt you will be greatly rewarded.

When it came time to pick my project at the completion of the program, I decided to do something that would be in direct connection to what I do each and every day. I have been in Network Marketing for eight years and I love every minute of it. I have chosen to team up with a company called Ambit Energy. This company deals with the deregulation of energy. Where people can choose their energy provider. I gather customers and help them save money on their gas and electric bills. Then I build teams and help them do the same.

The heart of the project included helping as many people as possible during a set period of time without the expectation of any financial gain while sharing or teaching Napoleon Hill’s principles of success. I found myself pleasantly surprised at how many people I helped.

I would use my guide of helping people through weekly meetings, one-on-one’s, three-way calls and conference calls. I would count the people who were connected to these meetings that I reached out to or they would reach out to me for help concerning their success. I shared with them what I had learned through the Leader Certification Program. I experienced that as I encouraged others I was encouraged myself. I found much joy and fulfillment in teaching, helping and in encouraging others. I also found it interesting that a large majority of the people had never heard about Napoleon Hill.

I helped over 400 people in their Ambit Business. I experienced others having victory when their teams grew because of my help. Through the conference calls there were so many people encouraged and uplifted through the teaching of Napoleon Hill. Through the three way calls I found people joining those I helped and one on one’s were no different. During the project, I found that teaching on the subjects of Developing a Definite Major Purpose and Overcoming Adversity and Defeat were the most helpful. In Network Marketing those are two subjects that are needed the most.

I learned a lot about myself as I went through this project. I learned that these principles of success equipped me to help others. I also learned the secret of serving others even when you do not receive financial gain. I suppose it is the secret of Going the Extra Mile to reach out to others. The joy became evident when I saw people thankful and grateful through their actions, and their words to me. They were thankful and grateful for a leader in Ambit that had nothing to gain from helping them, which apparently is a rare thing.

One important thing that I learned through going through this program is something that Napoleon taught. Learn the secret of serving others. I suppose when you lose yourself by helping others you always gain much more than money could ever bring to you. The money one seeks will come as you help others achieve what they want in life.

I will always be GRATEFUL AND THANKFUL that I took time to go through the Napoleon Hill Leader Certification Program. I will always be THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL to Judy and Uriel (“Chino”) for their interest in me and the desire they had to reach out and change my life. They were the best in their attitudes and their desire to help others to finish the program. I would encourage anyone that is ready and eager for change to sign up for this program TODAY! As W. Clement Stone would say “Do it now!”

The Path to Personal Power

by Napoleon Hill

This true lost manuscript from the “grandfather of self-help,” Napoleon Hill provides timeless wisdom on how to attain a more successful and wealthy life using simple principles.

Napoleon Hill first wrote The Path to Personal Power in 1941, intending it as a handbook for people lifting themselves out of the Great Depression. But upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America’s entrance into World War II, these lessons were put aside and largely forgotten–until today.

Discovered in the archives of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, this never-before-published work is made up of three easily digested lessons, each its own chapter: Definiteness of Purpose; the Master Mind; and Going the Extra Mile.

This concise book is a powerful road map that leads to a single discovery–you already have the power to attain whatever wealth, success, and prosperity you desire in life. All you need to do is walk the path without straying, and the rest will follow.

Using these lessons, you have principles to live by that will help you stay on your own personal path to power, and achieve success that you never thought possible.

How to Own Your Own Mind

by Napoleon Hill

Locked in a vault since 1941, here is Napoleon Hill’s definitive lesson on how to organize your thinking to attain success!

In How to Own Your Mind, you receive a one-of-a-kind master class in how to think for success from motivational pioneer and author of Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill. In three compelling chapters, Hill demonstrates how to organize, prioritize, and act on information so that it translates into opportunity.

Knowledge is not power. Only applied knowledge is power. This book teaches you how to use what you know, and how to know what’s worth knowing.

“The name Napoleon Hill is synonymous with practical advice on how to get ahead.”—Mitch Horowitz, CNBC.com

Think and Grow Rich

by Napoleon Hill

As Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, I receive many requests from people wanting the original 1937 copy of Think and Grow Rich. To satisfy those of you who desire to have a 1937 unedited copy, we have reproduced Napoleon Hill’s personal copy of the first edition, printed in March of 1937. The book has the notation, “not to be loaned,” and signed: Annie Lou Hill (the wife of Dr. Hill). This personal copy of Dr. Hill’s was given to me by Dr. Charles W. Johnson, Chairman of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and a nephew of Napoleon Hill. It was Napoleon Hill who sent Dr. Johnson to medical school, and today he is a practicing cardiologist. Charlie refers to Napoleon Hill as “Uncle Nap” and will often makes the statement, “Uncle Nap would be proud of the Foundation today.” The original 1937 manuscript was written and edited with the assistance of Napoleon’s wife. In later years, the existing document was again edited by Dr. Hill. For example, the Foundation owns a 1958 edition that Hill edited personally. This did not lessen the book’s value in Hill’s judgment. Hill made the editing remarks in his own handwriting and the resulting 1960 edited edition has sold over 100 million copies making it the most read self-help book of all time
