NAPOLEON HILL HAS CREATED A POST GRADUATE COURSE
FOR YOU!

It is because we sincerely feel that every reader of Think and Grow Rich should go on into this post graduate course, that we take the liberty here of giving a few brief side lights upon this brilliant work. Napoleon Hill’s Course presents the true Philosophy upon which all lasting success is built. Ideas, when translated into intelligent plans of action, are the beginning of all successful achievement. So this course proceeds to show you how to create practical ideas for every human need. It does it in easy-to-understand lessons. Napoleon Hill spent the better part of twenty-five years in perfecting this Philosophy of Success. During the long years he has worked on it, some parts or the whole of it, have been reviewed and praised by many of the greatest Americans of our times. Among them are included four Presidents of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Warren G. Harding, Wm. H. Taft; Thomas Edison, Luther Burbank, Wm. J. Wrigley, Alexander Graham Bell, Judge E. H. Gary, Cyrus H. K. Curtis, Edward Bok, E.M. Statler—dozens of glowing names in Politics, Finance, Education, and Invention.

Don’t waste your own precious years blindly searching for the hidden road to the heights. Profit by the dearly brought experience of America’s leaders. Over 500 great and prominent men of America were minutely analyzed—their methods, motives, strategy—to find out the secrets that put them on top. No matter whether you are rich or poor—you have one asset as great as the richest man living—and that is TIME. But with each setting sun you become one day older, and have one day less in which to attain the success and wealth you desire. Thousands of progressive people throughout the North American continent have realized this mighty truth, and have sought the help so clearly and inspiringly taught in Napoleon Hill. You cannot afford to let day after day slip into eternity, without getting possession of this course. You will profit greatly from the lessons in THINK AND GROW RICH. You will take even more brilliant and gratifying rewards from this course. The cost is trifling; the benefits are tremendous.

Vintage Essays By Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center at Purdue University Calumnet

Dear Readers,

The year-end is an excellent time to assess your progress and to look forward to the next twelve months. Celebrate your accomplishments and take time to evaluate the goals you may not have reached. Know that failing to reach a goal in the time that you had allocated does not mean you failed, unless you had quit taking the necessary steps to accomplish your goal.

For example attending night school while being employed full time can bring obstacles that you may not have anticipated such as a job transfer, loss of a job or other personal challenges. These can be obstacles that slow down your progress, but you have not failed if you keep putting in the daily effort. Challenges simply mean that the goal will take just a little longer than you had planned. A goal delayed is not a failure.

Studies show that less than 10% of people accomplish their goals or resolutions. There are many reasons why we falter, starting with the failure to put our goals in writing. Napoleon Hill shares with us a very simple but powerful exercise in helping us accomplish our goals. He suggests that we write down our goal and keep it ever before us and repeat it day and night. A written goal is to be viewed as a contract with yourself and it simply states: “this is what is what I am going to accomplish in the coming year.”

Being involved in the self-help industry for so many years I have observed that one of the things that deter people from reaching their goals is that they do not want it bad enough. If the goal does not inspire passion within you it is easy to stop trying.

This year’s end should be a time of reflection and appreciation for being free. Free to pursue new dreams and new goals. To practice our faith without fear and share our blessings with others who are less fortunate.

Each and every day is a new beginning and by taking small passionate steps daily, we will reach our new year’s resolutions.

Happy New Year from myself and everyone at the Napoleon Hill Foundation

The best to you at whatever you do!
Don Green
Executive Director Napoleon Hill Foundation

ABOUT RESOLUTIONS:
Resolutions are more likely to be achieved when they are specific, realistic, preplanned and shared with others. Napoleon Hill says “Write it down and repeat it daily!” The one thing to remember is to NEVER give up. Know that with practice we get better and better at reaching our goals. Napoleon Hill reminds us that nothing takes the place of persistence!

The Law of Success

AS I JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE
by Napoleon Hill

I wish to be of service to my fellow men as I journey through life, and I wish to carry with me wherever I go, a disposition of sunshine and good fellowship. To do this I have adopted a guide which I shall endeavor to follow in dealing with my fellow beings as this guide I adopted in my boyhood days, and a part of it I picked up from observation as I grew into more mature age and as I learned from personal contact with men and women that life is pretty much what we make it – that we largely control our own destiny and our progress on this earth. For the benefit of those who may wish to emulate me in adopting so much of my daily guide as may conveniently be put into use by them in their own dealings with their fellowmen, I submit a copy of it as follows:

To train myself so that never under any circumstances whatever, shall I find fault with a single person, no matter how much I may disagree with him or how inferior his work may seem to be, so long as I know he is sincerely trying to do his best.

To respect my country, my profession, and myself. To be honest and fair with my fellowmen, as I expect them to be honest and fair with me. To be a loyal citizen of the United States of America. To speak of it with praise, and act; always as a trustworthy custodian of its good name. To be a man whose name carries weight where ever he goes.

To base my expectations of reward on a solid foundation of services rendered. To be willing to pay the price of success in honest efforts. To look upon my work as an opportunity to be seized with joy and made the most of, and not as a painful drudgery to be reluctantly endured.

To remember that success lies within myself – in my own brain, my own ambition, my own courage and determination. To expect difficulties and force my way through them. To turn hard experiences into capital for future struggles.

To believe in my proposition heart and soul. To carry an air of optimism in the presence of those I meet. To dispel ill-temper with cheerful news, kill doubts with a strong conviction, and reduce active friction with an agreeable personality.

To make a study of my business. To know my profession in every detail. To mix brains with my efforts and use system and method in my work. To find time to do every needful thing by never letting time find me doing nothing. To hoard days as a miser hoards dollars. To make every hour bring me dividends, increased knowledge or healthful recreation.

To keep my future unmortgaged by debts. To save as well as to earn. To cut out expensive amusements until I can afford them. To steer clear of dissipation and guard my health of body and peace of mind as a most precious stock in trade.

To avoid procrastination in all of its various forms, and never, under any circumstances, to put off until tomorrow any duty which I should perform today.

To endeavor to give something to the world in return for the food and raiment which the world gives me, and to so live in the pursuit of my daily occupation that I will make those with whom I come in contact happy.

To reap a rich harvest of happiness from the thought that my aim in life shall be to give happiness, help and encouragement to those around me, and to expect a reward in a generous proportion to the seeds I sow which generate them.

Finally, to take a good grip on the joys of life. To play the game like a man. To fight against nothing as hard as my own weaknesses.

So I may be courteous to men, faithful to friends, true to God – a fragrance in the path I tread.

A Journey of a Thousand Columns
by Jim Stovall

As you read these words in a newspaper, magazine, or online publication somewhere around the world, you are helping me celebrate a momentous milestone. Most great things come from humble beginnings, and this Winners’ Wisdom column certainly did. Twenty years ago, I had just written my first book, and the editor of my hometown business journal asked if I would write a column one week. I asked him the most basic question of all, “What’s a column?” He told me to write approximately 500 words on anything I thought his readers needed to know.

I sat down with my valued colleague, Dorothy Thompson, to whom I have dictated over 40 books and all my columns including the one you’re reading right now. I dictated a Winners’ Wisdom column I entitled Activity vs Productivity and sent it off to the business journal editor. A few minutes later, he called and told me to write a column every Thursday and send it to him. At that time, I couldn’t imagine having something to write that would be worthy of my readers’ attention every week, but we proceeded.

Over the ensuing months and years, many other print and electronic publications around the world began carrying Winners’ Wisdom each week. I began dropping off notes for Dorothy of future column ideas, and here we are 20 years later writing our 1,000th column, and the file of future Winners’ Wisdom column ideas has ballooned to several hundred.

Winners’ Wisdom columns have been compiled into four books published in conjunction with The Napoleon Hill Foundation entitled Wisdom for Winners volumes one through four. Having written over half a million words in these weekly messages, it has been my privilege to hear from literally thousands of people from all parts of the globe. People have shared their hopes, dreams, challenges, and ambitions. I’ve enjoyed the process of staying in touch with many of these people who have grown in numerous ways and are now successful in every area of their lives.

As in all my columns, you will find my contact information below should you wish to reach out to me. As I tell the countless people I speak to in arena events, I don’t simply want to be some guy sharing a few ideas or a theory, but instead, I want to be an integral part of your journey toward your own definition of success. You may be struggling with your own humble beginnings as you read these words just as I struggled to write that first column 20 years ago, but I can assure you if you will simply put one foot in front of the other, before you realize it, you will be celebrating your own milestones, and I hope you will stay in touch with me so I can celebrate your success.

As you go through your day today, take the first step and get ready to celebrate your victory.

Today’s the day!

The Path to Personal Power

by Napoleon Hill

This true lost manuscript from the “grandfather of self-help,” Napoleon Hill provides timeless wisdom on how to attain a more successful and wealthy life using simple principles.

Napoleon Hill first wrote The Path to Personal Power in 1941, intending it as a handbook for people lifting themselves out of the Great Depression. But upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor and America’s entrance into World War II, these lessons were put aside and largely forgotten–until today.

Discovered in the archives of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, this never-before-published work is made up of three easily digested lessons, each its own chapter: Definiteness of Purpose; the Master Mind; and Going the Extra Mile.

This concise book is a powerful road map that leads to a single discovery–you already have the power to attain whatever wealth, success, and prosperity you desire in life. All you need to do is walk the path without straying, and the rest will follow.

Using these lessons, you have principles to live by that will help you stay on your own personal path to power, and achieve success that you never thought possible.
