Adversity and Defeat

by Diane Lampe

What if every time adversity and defeat showed up in our life … we could change it?

You can….

Napoleon Hill has such a great way of helping us embrace and change our view of whatever is happening in our life at any given moment.

“Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” — Napoleon Hill

And, the good news is … there is no such thing as defeat until we accept it as such! As we go through life’s twists and turns, Napoleon Hill states that the best application is making sure we apply a Positive Mental Attitude to what we normally would view as “failure.” When we reframe it as only “temporary defeat,” our attitude toward everything in our life will change … for the better, of course.

I was personally amazed how failure or defeat provides a lesson that could be learned in no other way than through defeat and turning this lesson into an asset in our lives.

Remember, what does not get repaired, will be repeated. Defeat becomes a destructive force only when it is accepted as failure! So, when accepted as teaching some needed lesson, it is always a blessing.

What can you do today about something in your life that you may have felt defeated? Stop, right now, and take a few minutes to reframe it, you’ll be glad you did!
