  • We’ve all heard the saying “it’s music to my ears!” The meaning behind this statement is that we are generally happy about the message that has been received. Napoleon Hill understood the significance of music and the effect that it can have on people. In an early essay, he details the positive results that can be received just by listening to music that is harmonious. This confirmation regarding the significance of music influenced me to write this book. By aligning three popular Broadway musical songs with each of the 17 Success Principles, I maintain that the music and the lyrics can enhance a person’s understanding and recall of what Dr. Hill is trying to teach. I have gone back to the source for the original article written by Dr. Hill that appeared in Napoleon Hill’s Magazine, April, 1921. I am including it below for your review. As you read what Dr. Hill advocates, it is easily seen that he was ahead of his time in forecasting the strong influence of music in education and the public arena. Today, we are often bombarded with music everywhere. From elevator music, to blaring car radios, to classic symphonies, and beyond, music invades our lives. Why not choose what you listen to and strengthen the positive messaging that is inherent in the melody and the lyrics? It is known that the right kind of music can sooth and have a relaxing effect of the listener. It is also known that music can imbed subliminal ideas in our subconscious mind. Therefore, it makes good sense to purposefully decide to listen to musical selections that contribute to our Positive Mental Attitude. The 52 selections referred to in this book may inspire you to listen and then select those that appeal to you the most. Now, sit back, read, listen, and enjoy both the music and the lesson! Be Your Very Best Always, Judy Williamson

  • Napoleon Hill wrote this book in 1938, just after publication of his all-time bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. This powerful tale has never been published, considered too controversial by his family and friends.
  • Following the success of his 1937 landmark bestseller, Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill wrote Outwitting the Devil, an exposé on the methods the Devil uses to ensnare and control the minds of human beings. Exploring the innermost depths of the psychology of motivation to understand why so many individuals, including himself, cannot find the initiative and courage they need to consistently implement the philosophy of individual achievement, Hill went so far as to interview the Devil himself. The resulting confession from the Devil made this book so controversial as to remain unpublished for over 70 years. Now it is your turn to break the Devil’s code and free yourself from the hidden methods of control that lead to ruin.
  • In 1938, just after publication of his all-time bestseller Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill reveals that he broke the Devil’s Code, forcing him to confess his secrets. The resulting manuscript―Outwitting the Devil―proved so controversial, it was hidden for more than seventy years. Now Sharon Lechter brings us this important audiobook, annotating and editing it for a contemporary audience. Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Hill digs deep to identify the greatest obstacles we face in reaching our personal goals―including fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy―as tools orchestrated by the Devil himself. These hidden methods of control can lead us to ruin, and Hill reveals the seven principles of good that will allow us to finally triumph over them and succeed. Fascinating, provocative, and empowering, Outwitting the Devil shows how to create your own path to success, harmony, and fulfillment in an age of uncertainty and fear.
