You may find it helpful to keep handy a scrapbook or notebook, in which to jot down all the clever little sayings that you find inspiring as you read the daily newspapers, magazines, or other forms of the printed word.
~Napoleon Hill

“Any business whose management has the foresight to adopt a policy which consolidates management, employees and the public it serves in a spirit of team work, provides itself with an insurance policy against failure.” ~Napoleon Hill

Vintage Essays By Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center at Purdue University Calumnet

“Take each day as you find it,
if things go wrong, don’t mind it,
For each day leaves behind it
A chance to start anew.”

~Gertrude Ellgas

Dear Readers:

Affirming is one way to bring the future into the present. By memorizing and repeating statements that are positive and in the present tense as if they have already happened, you create the future in the now. Truth in advance may be the definition that you want to give these stated thoughts, so that all the while you are focusing on the positive and downplaying or hopefully eliminating the negative. You can create your own statements, or you can rely on scripture, famous quotations, or sayings that you like and have gathered over the years to set yourself on a positive course of both attitude and action.

By affirming, we are calling the good into our lives. Expectations are created and we direct our thoughts towards locating what we want to bring about. Nothing is foolproof, or a slam dunk, but if we are headed in the right direction more than likely something that started out to be negative can course correct and a positive result may follow. Usually, we get what we continually focus on, and by affirming the outcome we desire, we lead ourselves in that direction.

Whether by goal setting, writing down quotations, affirming future outcomes, or just mentally reciting a soothing phrase from scripture, we colorize our minds for future results that are more positive than negative. Good thoughts are things that can captivate us, so why not think on these?

Words comprise affirmations, and form positive or negative thoughts. Why not select the words you want to live by to create your world? Words have power, and by combining selected words into statements that you recite mentally and out loud, you can fearlessly tell the Universe what you expect to happen in your life. Set the standard for your life’s outcomes by creating a “play book” of affirmations outlining what you demand from life. Don’t give up when the going gets hard, stand up and acknowledge that life pays on demand. Demand the goodness that life has to offer each and every one of us, and reject the negativity that so easily confronts us day in and day out.

Be Your Very Best Always,
Judy Williamson

The Law of Success

The Process of Creative Thought
by Napoleon Hill

The sub-conscious mind may be likened to the sensitive plate of a camera on which the picture of any object placed before the camera will be recorded. The plate of the camera does not choose the sort of picture to be recorded on it, it records anything which reaches it through the lens. The conscious mind may be likened to the shutter which shuts off the light from the sensitized plate, permitting nothing to reach the plate for record except that which the operator wishes to reach it. The lens of the camera may be likened to Auto-suggestion, for it is the medium which carries the image of the object to be registered, to the sensitized plate of the camera. And infinite intelligence may be likened to the one who develops the sensitized plate, after a picture has been recorded on it, thus bringing the picture into physical reality.

The ordinary camera is a splendid instrument with which to compare the whole process of creative thought. First comes the selection of the object to be exposed before the camera. This represents one’s definite chief aim in life. Then comes the actual operation of recording a clear outline of that purpose, through the lens of Auto-suggestion, on the sensitized plate of the sub-conscious mind. Here infinite intelligence steps in and develops the outline of that purpose in a physical form appropriate to the nature of the purpose. The part which you must play is clear!

You select the picture to be recorded (definite chief aim). Then you fix your conscious mind upon this purpose with such intensity that it communicates with the sub-conscious mind, through Auto-suggestion, and registers that picture. You then begin to watch for and to expect manifestations of physical realization of the subject of that picture.

Think and Grow Rich

by Napoleon Hill

As Executive Director of the Napoleon Hill Foundation, I receive many requests from people wanting the original 1937 copy of Think and Grow Rich. To satisfy those of you who desire to have a 1937 unedited copy, we have reproduced Napoleon Hill’s personal copy of the first edition, printed in March of 1937. The book has the notation, “not to be loaned,” and signed: Annie Lou Hill (the wife of Dr. Hill). This personal copy of Dr. Hill’s was given to me by Dr. Charles W. Johnson, Chairman of the Napoleon Hill Foundation and a nephew of Napoleon Hill. It was Napoleon Hill who sent Dr. Johnson to medical school, and today he is a practicing cardiologist. Charlie refers to Napoleon Hill as “Uncle Nap” and will often makes the statement, “Uncle Nap would be proud of the Foundation today.” The original 1937 manuscript was written and edited with the assistance of Napoleon’s wife. In later years, the existing document was again edited by Dr. Hill. For example, the Foundation owns a 1958 edition that Hill edited personally. This did not lessen the book’s value in Hill’s judgment. Hill made the editing remarks in his own handwriting and the resulting 1960 edited edition has sold over 100 million copies making it the most read self-help book of all time
